The chorus consists of 46 professional singers and is committed in most of our opera productions as well as in concerts. Members of the chorus are regularly used for smaller solo parts and are occasionally given the opportunity to cover lead roles.We consider drama and movement to be important elements of the chorus' work 

The Göteborg Opera currently has chorus vacancies for one low bass (permanent contract, commencing 1 July 2018) and one tenor (permanent contract from 1 July 2018) and also most likely one bass on a yearly contract 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019.

We are also looking for additional singers in the male chorus.

Qualifications required:
Higher education from Music or Opera Academy or equivalent education. Our work language is Swedish and English.

If you have stage experience from musical theatre, it´s considered a merit.

Audition will take place on October 16, 2017.
Selected candidates will receive information about the audition no later then October 2. Detailed information on the audition procedure is sent to those who are called.

We would like you to prepare:

  • Two arias of your choice (attach the sheet music to the application as a pdf or send by mail)
  • Ensemble piece (the sheet music is available in the recruit system and will also be sent to you when you receive the invitation for the audition)
